Hi, I’m Maayke, the maker behind this ceramic studio in Eindhoven.

My love for ceramics was fully revived during my time at Design Academy Eindhoven, where I took a ceramics minor and rediscovered the love for clay I had felt as a child. All the pressure of complicated conceptual designs seemed to fall away, and I felt like I could simply create and have fun with the process.

As a home baker, I really enjoy the similarities between baking and ceramics. Both ask for patience and care, something that naturally flows from my heart to my hands as I make. No matter how carefully or perfectly you make something, you never quite know how it will surprise you when it comes out of the kiln. I find that wonderfully humbling.
